We are a small family-run alpaca farm and have been raising alpacas (both huacayas and suris) for over ten years. We are in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada.
Raising alpacas is the perfect lifestyle for stressed out city-dwellers who are considering a move to the country.
Alpacas are the perfect "green" livestock and previous livestock experience is not required to succeed at alpaca farming.
Let us introduce you to the alpaca lifestyle! It is worth considering!
“Introduction to Alpacas” Workshop
$99 per person
This practical and fun workshop is aimed at prospective alpaca owners who have a limited knowledge of these amazing animals. We provide you with an opportunity to spend the day with our herd!
This introductory workshop is informal and includes a good mixture of seminar-type learning and hands-on training. The workshop covers the following topics:
• History of Alpacas in South America and in Canada.
• Huacayas versus suris.
• Handling alpacas, penning and managing your animals.
• Nutrition, health and husbandry, including toenail clipping.
• Basic farm layout - Assessing your property for alpaca suitability.
• Enjoying alpacas for profit (breeding, fibre production) or fun (pet stock).
• Canadian Alpaca Show System.
• Fibre processing options in Canada.
The course runs from 10 am to 3 pm. Lunch and refreshments are included.

If you are serious about raising alpacas, but are not sure what animals to buy, take advantage of our brokerage service. Give us the number of animals you want to buy, whether you want huacaya and/or suri, your preferred colour(s), and we’ll find the perfect starter herd for you, sourced from reputable local breeders. Finder’s fees are paid for by the seller(s) ... so there is no cost to you. What have you got to lose?
Starter Herd Consultancy Service
You find a starter herd - Travel costs charged to the buyer
Alternatively, you might have stumbled across an ad for a herd dispersal sale and you don’t know which (if any) of the animals to buy. If you have taken our “Introduction to Alpacas” Workshop, we’ll go with you to go check out the herd and see which animals might be suitable for you. All we ask is that you cover the travel costs.
