Our alpaca journey

There are two types of alpacas - huacayas and suris.

Back in 2001 we purchased huacaya alpacas and started breeding them. But then, one of our huacaya dams (who had been mated to a suri herdsire) had a suri cria and we fell in love with the suri fleece! Eventually we decided to switch over to breeding suris and we sold most of our huacayas and bought some more suris.

This is a photo of Peruvian Sarah Suri, one of the original foundation stock imported from Peru. She is a very protective female and watches out for all members of the herd. No need for a guard llama with Sarah Suri around! At 14 years of age, she is retired from breeding, but she takes her job as guardian of the other alpacas very seriously.

It has been a long journey ... but our herd is now primarily suri and primarily white!

Our animals have sound conformation and we are now breeding for fineness and increased lustre.

All of our animals are CLAA registered and some are double-registered through CLAA and ARI.
